First Presbyterian Church supports a number of ongoing mission outreach programs, as well as occasional extra special projects.  We are always looking for more ways to care and share in the community and around the world.  Contact Pastor Kimby if you have some suggestions for programs to support.

Joy Closet is our primary mission outreach and is on another tab of this page.

Food Pantry Donations – Grocery baskets are open at entryways at all times to receive donations of nonperishable food items.  You may drop off your items at any time the doors are unlocked.  Periodically donations are taken to the Gardner Multi-Service Center for distribution.

Harvesters – County food pantry distributes in Gardner twice a month and we support with volunteers.

SafeHome – First Presbyterian Church has long been a supporter of Johnson County SafeHome.  SafeHome is a shelter for domestic violence, also offering a hotline, anonymous resources, support through the legal system, and various domestic violence prevention programs.  It is a strong local resource for the most vulnerable in our local area.  We have supported the program with physical and financial needs.  This is a favorite mission for our women’s groups to support.

Operation Christmas Child – is an international program sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse in which churches worldwide partner to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by offering Christmas boxes packed with love and specific items.  First Presbyterian Church joins with other local churches to provide boxes each year.  In 2023, we delivered 123 boxes.

PCUSA Offerings – We support all of the Presbyterian Church USA annual offerings.  More information about each of these is available under a different tab on this website.
