Pastor – Rev. Dr. Kimberly N. Young – Kimby - Copy (450x800)
Pastor Kimby loves Bible study and faith exploration.  Her greatest joy in ministry is to teach or have conversations about God.  So come share what you believe or explore your questions.   Come discover your next steps along your spiritual journey.  Kimby believes we all have gifts to share and we are all called to offer those gifts in the world to be used for the common good.  Seekers are welcome.
Kimby came to First Presbyterian Church of Gardner on November 1, 2015. Born in Mississippi and raised in Memphis, TN, Kimby graduated high school in Monett, MO.  Kimby holds a Masters in Christian Education and a Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia and a Doctor of Ministry in Religious Education from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.  Kimby served previously for 3 years in Warren, PA, 13 years at Westminster Presbyterian in Des Moines, Iowa, and 12 years at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, Kansas.

Connie began her service to First Presbyterian on April 1, 2006. She truly enjoys helping and serving others. She loves her job very much and thanks God every day for this opportunity.  Connie enjoys traveling to Europe and taking frequent road trips with her husband throughout the United States.  Connie loves to laugh and to make others laugh.  “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad it” – Psalm 118:24

toddMusic Director – Todd Burd – Todd Burd has been the Director of Church Music at First Presbyterian Church since 2014. He oversees the entire Music Ministry and directing the Chancel Choir, Chancel Bells and preparing special music for all congregational services.
Todd Burd has studied music education, sacred music and performance at the following institutions: Bethany College, Trinity College of Music, London England, Wichita State University and Baker University. He has a passion for exploring various types of music and bringing those to the congregation. Education and awareness of various styles of music are of great importance.
Todd Burd has also been the director of Choral Activities at Gardner Edgerton High School since 2001. Mr. Burd is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and National Association for Music Education. He is also a well-respected voice teacher and musical director. Mr. Burd continues to perform as a soloist in various capacities.
The two challenges he enjoys most here at First Presbyterian Church is to help people dig deeper in their spiritual journey with the thematic worship music (congregational and choral) that is sung on Sunday mornings and to incorporate music of various genres to worship.
Music in our worship focuses on praising God, teaching Scripture and sound Christian doctrine. Come to our worship services and concerts expecting to grow in your faith and understanding of God’s Creation!

Youth Directors – Dave and Cindy Rollf –
Dave and Cindy Rollf have been leading the youth group at FPC since 1995.  They live in Gardner with their two children, Nalleli and Jon, but consider all the teens to be their kids as well.  They love spending time with the youth and guiding them through the trials that come along with growing up and helping them discover how their faith in Jesus can be a foundation for a great future.  They enjoy leading the group as they live out their faith here at home and as they travel across the country on mission trips.  Dave is a police officer for the City of Gardner and Cindy works at Oatbrook Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician in addition to helping run the JOY Closet – a thrift store ministry of FPC.
