Joy Closet October
At JOY Closet, we try to be mindful of the ways in which we can carry out this verse. A foster parent arrives and has two new foster children in their care. We encourage the parent to get a variety of things, such as clothing, jackets, shoes, and books to help the children settle into a successful experience. |
During the summer, we helped many families to obtain free clothing, shoes, and bedding through our voucher system. We helped 60 shoppers in June, 33 in July, and 61 in August.
We let the USD 231 Health Room Aides know we are available to obtain gently used clothing and clean underwear for students. Most of our shoppers are looking for good-quality, used clothing at garage-sale prices. They find that they are able to come in year-round and find items that are very usable for their family. It is through the income of these shoppers and the hard work of volunteers that we are able to successfully serve the community. |
